Olympia Snowe for President?

It's been a day since Senator Olympia Snowe shocked the American political scene by announcing she would not seek reelection and political pundits are already guessing what's next for the moderate Republican from Maine. In a statement, Snowe cited gridlock in Congress due to "‘my way or the highway’ ideologies" as one of her main reasons for leaving Congress.

Yet Senator Snowe's statement made sure to point out that she was in good health and remained "deeply passionate about public service." Snowe also said that "I see a vital need for the political center in order for our democracy to flourish and to find solutions that unite rather than divide us."

That has some pundits wondering whether Snowe is planning a Presidential run on the Americans Elect platform. The new group plans to put forth a ticket of centrists to overcome the problems of the two party system.

Do you think the White House would benefit from some Maine values? Share your thoughts below.
