Maine Senators Won't Commit to GOP Filibuster of Obama's Financial Regulatory Plan

Maine's Republican Senators will not commit to a Republican filibuster of President Barack Obama's financial regulatory proposals. Obama's plan calls for the government to have powers to break up big companies and gives the Federal Reserve more authority over large banks. It also creates the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA), a new, independent federal agency that would be charged with overseeing how financial firms lend to consumers.
