Snowe, Collins Announce $5,000 for Maine's Aroostook Band of Micmacs in Presque Isle
As we reported in a past article, federal funding continues to benefit Native American communities in Maine.
Today U.S. Senators Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins (R-Maine) said that the Institute of Museum and Library Services Native American Library Services Program has granted $5,000 to the Aroostook Band of Micmacs in Presque Isle. The money will support the tribe’s library services and assist in sustaining core educational programs.
"We are pleased to announce this critical funding for the Aroostook Band of Micmacs," Senators Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. "This grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services will benefit the entire Micmac community by expanding access to educational resources and enhancing library services."
