Vassalboro Approves Measure Regulating Adult Businesses
Over 200 residents of Vassalboro turned up at a town meeting on Monday to approve regulations on adult businesses in their town. The measure is a reaction to the controversial Grand View Topless Coffee Shop, a small business with topless male and female waiters that was likely burned down by anti-nude vigilantes last Wednesday.
The Kennebec Journal is reporting that the measure is meant to contain the "negative secondary effects" of adult businesses. Adult-themed businesses can't be located within 500 feet of a general interest business or 1000 feet from a church or school.
Adult businesses can't serve alcohol or stay open ....

I think this is the perfect
I think this is the perfect compromise. As long as these businesses don't blatently infringe on our communities I believe they stand to complement them and boost local economy.
