Verso Paper Awarded Over $9 Million from Feds for Energy Efficiency Projects

The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announcement that Verso Paper Corporation will receive a $9,356,177 Recovery Act grant for the deployment of waste energy recovery technologies at mills in Jay and Bucksport Maine as well as in Sartell, Minnesota.
Verso's 12 waste energy recovery sub-projects will have an overall efficiency of 33% and could save an estimated 1.28 trillion Btu annually, according to the office of Maine's Congressman Mike Michaud.
