Sign of Spring: Sebago Campground to Open

Looking to celebrate Patriots Day weekend (and an early spring in Maine) outside?

The Sebago Lake State Park campground will open this weekend for the season.

"Conditions are such that we have been able to turn on the campground water and get the bathrooms ready earlier than normal,” Ron Hunt, a regional manager at Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands said. “We are looking forward to a full and busy season."

125 sites, including RV hook-ups will be available off the Witch Cove section of the campground. Campers are expected to calculate their fees and leave them in the tins at the park's entrance.

There won't be site reservations until May 21 and the campground will not have its peak season reception staff. Rangers will still be keeping an eye on things, according to officials.
