Maine First-Time Homebuyers Go for $8000 Tax Credit

Are you looking to buy your first home in Maine? Maybe you have heard of the first-time home buyer tax credit. Qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence before December 1, 2009 can get up to $8000 dollars as a tax credit from the federal government.

The Exception has been covering this opportunity but clearly our readers have many unanswered questions. And frankly, we don't know all the answers.

Feel free to use the comments section below to post questions, share tips and discuss the tax credit. How has the credit impacted the Maine market? We would be interested to hear any anecdotal evidence that might be out there.
