Maine's Lobsterman Triathlon Attracting 800 Athletes

800 athletes will head to Freeport’s Winslow Park on Saturday morning, September 19th for Tri-Maine’s Lobsterman Triathlon and Aquabike event.

The race begins at 9:30 a.m. and includes a 1.5-kilometers (.93 miles) swim in Casco Bay, a 40-kilometer (24 mile) bike ride from Freeport to Brunswick and a 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) “lollipop” run through the village of South Freeport.

Aquabike competitors will follow the same swim and bike courses without the run. All races finish back at Winslow Park.

Gritty McDuff’s will host a classic lobsterbake after the race. There will also be live entertainment and a "LobsterKids Fun Run" after the adult event, according to organizers.

The Lobsterman will feature both local athletes and competitors from more than 24 states and Canadian provinces.
