Maine Filmmakers Release Western "Three Priests"

GumSpirits Productions, a film company based in Portland, Maine, will release its latest feature, Three Priests nationwide on June 30th.

Southern Maine natives, co-producer/director/writer Jim Cole, co-producer/actor Aaron Duffey, co-producer Jay Towle and co-producer Eileen Oberholtzer teamed up with executive producers Peter Jacobs and Gloria Pinza to produce the contemporary western shot on location in Montana. The film stars Michael Parks (Kill Bill, From Dusk Till Dawn, Grindhouse, Assassination of Jessie James), Olivia Hussey (Romeo and Juliet, Mother Teresa), and Wes Studi (The Last of the Mohicans, The New World).

The filmmakers were able to raise almost all of the funds needed to produce the film right here in Maine. They hope that a successful release of Three Priests will allow the team to continue to produce films in Maine that reach a national audience.

The film has been listed for rental by Netflix and Blockbuster Online. The film was picked up for domestic distribution after premiering at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California, rated as one of the “top 10” film festivals in the world and one of the country’s largest.
