Vic's Flicks: Review of Notorious

The life of the Notorious B.I.G. almost seems as if it were destined to become a movie: rap child-prodigy emerges from the crack dens in the heart of Brooklyn to reclaim the hip hop crown from the developing empire of west coast rappers. It's also the arch-typical quest of a fatherless child making the magnificent rise from rags to riches. Throw in some Lil' Kim boobies and add some gangster cliches and you have yourself a box office hit.
Despite the formula, when you watch Notorious you can't but feel something's wrong. Maybe because it's hard to shake the fact that the movie was produced by Biggie's mother (Voletta Wallace) and....
