Maine Teen Kisses Diploma Goodbye
Thanks Mom! Justin Denney, a graduating senior at Bonny Eagle High School, blew a kiss and bowed to his mom during the school's commencement ceremony on June 12. Apparently, that counts as showboating, according to an AP recap, so Denney was denied his diploma by school officials.
"There was no misbehavior. Showboating is not misbehavior," Mary Denney, his mother, told WMTW. "A bow, a kiss to your mom is not misbehavior."
The Denneys are fighting the decision.

That principal's attitude is a big part of the reason American schools are suffering. If the administrators are this focused on the wrong things, the students are just being released from jail instead of graduating. That principal owes the student, the parents, and the country an apology for her narrow minded behavior.
