How would you describe your company and its product to someone who has never heard of it?

An online marketplace to easily order catering.

How did you come up with the idea for your company? How did you validate the concept early on?

There is a clear need in the market, both on the customer and the caterer side for this type of platform. Customers have issues with discovery, transparent pricing, and ordering easily, whereas caterers would like more exposure, more customers and to grow their businesses.

What does your ideal customer look like?

Companies which invest in employee satisfaction by providing meals form the core of our customer base. Within those companies we typically work with the office manager who ensures that staff have a positive experience at work! It’s a lot of effort for them to keep their people happy, so we’re glad to be able to assist them.

Where would you like to see your company in 5 years?

Europe’s largest catering marketplace, present throughout the EU.

What broader trends are driving interest in the food tech sector?

Food tech is a very exciting space; constantly digitalizing. It’s also an area which is growing very fast, as all of us change our buying and eating habits. And at the end of the day, it’s something we can all relate to and which is a central part of our lives – everyone’s got to eat!

What excites you personally about working in food tech?

It’s interesting to be part of such a wholesale change in the way that people eat. When you start in a space where no service exists and then in a few years see multiple companies meeting customer needs, it’s very rewarding.

Do you believe your city/state supports its food tech startups?

Berlin is a great place for start ups. There’s a lot of support from the government and the tech industry is booming here.
