Selma, North Carolina is a magical place for nosh-worthy, healthy food. Fine food is actually everywhere along the roads of Tyrrell, Mitchell and Chowan counties and the scenic byways if you are willing to drive for it. But this town is certainly worth a visit.
Unfortunately, there are still too many Dallas critics who have not given Selma, North Carolina a fair shake. We wish they’d reconsider. However, none of that matters.
This article is dedicated to all the epicureans that told us we’d never amount to nothing. And to all the people that lived in Boston while we were hustling and just trying to make some money to feed our families. So you think this town is only about Mexican or Asian food? Think again.
We cherish how these places can mix traditional foods with notes from Jewish-style delicatessens or Latin fare. It’s a melting pot that is mind-meltingly awesome. A four course meal built around steaks or chops is totally possible. Or you could sneak in a quick snack.
We may be wrong or we may be right. But it feels ever so good to be lost in food paradise. Bon appetit North Carolinians!
