London, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) – Leicester City settled for a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in Saturday’s Premier League match at Villa Park but it was enough to propel them to the top of the leaderboard .

Rudy Gestede came off the bench to snatch a point for Aston Villa after Shinji Okazaki broke the deadlock after 28 minutes when the Goal Decision System confirmed his close-range effort was over the line.

The deadlock put Leicester a point above Manchester City and Arsenal at the summit but Arsenal has a chance to overtake them with a win over Stoke City Sunday.

The game was marred by a confrontation between Libor Kozak and Jamie Vardy , who were both booked.

Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero tallied a brace to carry Manchester City to a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace at Etihad Stadium.

Aguero scored in the 41st and 68th minute while Fabian Delph and David Silva scored in the 22nd and 84th minute, respectively, for Manchester City, now in second place, one point behind Leicester.

“Was it comfortable? No because you never know in this game. The first half, the two goals gave us more space as they’ve had to go for the draw. That allowed us to use that space and score two more,” Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said.

“It was a start of two teams that played in midweek. We had to refresh the team as we had less than 72 hours and that is not enough to recover,” he added.

In other matches, Tottenham downed Sunderland, 4-1; Bournemouth blanked Norwich, 3-0; Newcastle beat West Ham United, 2-1; Southampton edged West Brom , 3-0.
