London, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) – Arsenal grabbed a share of the Premier League top spot after a scoreless draw with Stoke City Sunday at Britannia Stadium.

The draw moved Arsenal above Leicester City and back to the top of the Premier League standings on goal difference while Stoke remained in seventh spot.

Stoke’s Jack Butland made terrific saves to deny Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud twice while Arsenal’s keeper Petr Cech made a superb double stop to keep the scores level.

With the draw, Arsenal continued its winless streak against Stoke at Britannia Stadium since February 2010.

Arsenal played playmaker Mesut Ozil due to a foot injury while Xherdan Shaqiri’s hamstring injury kept him out for Stoke.

Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney scored late in the second half to carry Manchester United to a 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield .

Rooney recovered the ball after Marouane Fellain’s header hit the crossbar and hit the game-winning goal 12 minutes from time as Manchester United defeated Liverpool for a fourth straight time.

With the win, Manchester United improved to fifth with 37 points, seven points behind Arsenal and Leicester, while Liverpool remained ninth.

“To beat Liverpool is always important and today it was important because our competitors have lost points and when the gap is like this you can oversee the points gap,” Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal said.
